Mission & Vision | Present Help by June

“It is impossible to treat a person as though he were alone in the world. We must include those around him.”
— Dr. Paul Tournier

Our Mission

To provide clear, calm, and reliable between clinic visit cancer symptom support delivered by a Registered Nurse. We help individuals and families understand symptoms, strengthen self-care, and make informed decisions about when to seek further medical attention — especially during evenings, weekends, and between oncology appointments.

Our work complements oncology teams and keeps the whole person in view — body, mind, and context — guided by evidence-informed practice and the Medicine of the Person approach.

Our Vision

A trusted, nurse-led model of between clinic visit symptom support that strengthens community oncology care by reducing uncertainty, supporting timely decision-making, and helping people feel safer at home during treatment.

We envision services that are professional, ethically delivered, and well-integrated with existing care teams — with potential to expand thoughtfully through licensed nursing practice and collaborative models.

Safety: Present Help is not an emergency service. Severe or rapidly worsening symptoms — such as difficulty breathing, chest pain, uncontrolled bleeding, confusion, or fever ≥ 38.0°C (100.4°F) — require immediate medical attention. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Continuity of care: Clients receive a brief summary of each session for their records. With consent, a concise update can be shared with the oncology team as an optional service.
